About Keith Evans & Company Solicitors

Keith Evans & Company Solicitors in Wales, were set up on 1 March 1990. Initially with a staff of just 5, and limited to a small rented office in High Street in Newport, the firm has now expanded to offices in Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny and Monmouth.

Most of us need expert legal help at some time in our lives. Some of the most common issues are to do with buying a house, getting a divorce, being arrested by the police or making a will. But you might also need help if you are setting up home with your partner, starting your own business or organising an elderly person's finances.

On the 18th September 2009  the Law Society awarded us with the "Lexcel Practice Management Standard" quality mark. It is awarded to firms who meet the Law Society’s strict management and customer care standards.  There are 740 firms approximately within England and Wales that have been awarded the quality mark, only 35 of them are in Wales.

As part of the process, firms undergo rigorous independent assessment every year to ensure they meet required standards of excellence in areas such as client care, case management and risk management.

According to the Law Society, choosing an accredited practise guarantees clients a timely response to all client communications, regular and accurate cost estimates and information on how charges will be calculated.

Making an appointment

Once you have selected which of our solicitors can best assist you and your issue, you need to make an appointment. You can either contact the Solicitor direct by email, or email/telephone the office where they are based and ask to speak with their Secretary.

Be prepared

The more preparation you do before the meeting, the more you'll get out of it. Make a list of the main points you want to make or the questions you want to ask. Get together any paperwork that is relevant and put it in some kind of order so you can refer to it quickly. This will make it quicker and easier for us to understand your circumstances and give you proper advice. You will also be asked to provide two forms of identification.

Keeping in touch

Once you have instructed one of our solicitors, they will consult you at every stage; to check how you wish to proceed. Similarly, you need to tell us about any changes to your personal circumstances which could affect the case. This includes any changes in your financial position which could alter your eligibility for legal aid.

Our approach to clients is friendly but efficient. You will be made to feel welcome, but also confident that your legal affairs will be dealt with in a professional and competent manner.

We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and have been awarded contracts by the legal services commission for criminal and family matters.

Our quality policy – “It is the policy of Keith Evans & Company Solicitors to provide accurate, reliable and practicable legal advice and services to a level which is appropriate for each and every client. We aim to remain approachable and friendly, whilst maintaining a professional and flexible approach to meet the needs of every single client, whatever their background, age, race, or gender”
