Scott Bowen is a partner of the firm with direct responsibility for the criminal department and the legal services contract to provide services as a whole. He undertook his law degree and his LPC at the University of Glamorgan.
Scott initially joined the firm as a trainee before qualifying in 2002. He quickly developed into a talented advocate and was offered partnership in 2005.
Since 2005, Scott has developed the criminal department into a highly recognised leading team in the South Wales Area. This was reflected in 2008 with the firm being one of only 326 firms nationally to gain accreditation to the Very High Cost Criminal Cases panel; a specialist panel of solicitors dealing with the the most complex and expensive cases, usually taking months to reach court.
Scott has dealt with everything from murder, rape, drug importations and fraud to drink drive, motoring offences and benefit fraud. He has considerable experience in large and complex cases prosecuted by the Serious Fraud Office, HM Revenue and Customs, Trading Standards and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. He regularly represents clients at the police station and the magistrates court, as well as supervising the more serious cases in the crown court.
Scott is a qualified duty solicitor both at the police station and the magistrates court as well as an accredited member of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association.
As well as responsibility for the criminal department, Scott also supervises the private litigation department dealing with everything from Civil disputes in the County Court to Employment cases before the Employment Tribunal. He has personally dealt with cases involving building issues to commercial debt recovery as well as cases ranging from unfair dismissal to sexual discrimination.
Scott has recently been appointed to the commitee of The Chamber of Trade.
